Horse and Child
Hey all,
Well I am fully recovered from last weekend now, but I made a mistake in thinking that I had a two week break between shows, as I have another one this coming Sunday. I am the sole judge for this show and we have about 16 classes, so not too big. Despite the location , which is again right on the seafront so we will battle with any winds, but hopefully it wont be too bad as there is a little protection, unlike last time. I think this will probably be my last dog show of the year, which I am kinda of sad about, because I love doing them, meeting all the dogs and owners, but in another way I am heaving a sigh of relief, because it does take some planning, and being on my feet all day, plays havoc with my arthritis, hence the long time it takes to get back to what I call normal. This year seems to of flown by and I cant believe that we are already nearly in September, but this also heralds the time for me to sit down and re-evaluate the year, and make plans for 2009, of which I have a few.
This is my latest commission, quite a difficult one really, size 16 x 12 inches on Stonehenge, using Prismas and Polychromos. It was worked from one photo and in places I did have to use a bit of artistic licence, but it came out very well and the owner was really pleased with it....so much it was only delivered a week ago today and is already framed and hanging on the wall. Unfortunately I did not scan this, but photographed it, and don't think the picture does it justice, and I do need to sit down and practice taking photos of finished artwork, rather than just aim and hope for the best.... I am just so used to my scanner but the bigger pieces tend to get a bit cropped out due to their size.
